Viewer-participation streams are streams where viewers play games or chat together. Streams labeled “participation,” “looking for players,” or similar in the title, description, or on-stream announcements are the ones you can join.
Komoru welcomes first-time viewers. Even if it’s your first time, feel free to say hi in chat when it fits the stream vibe.
Rules and signup details can differ by stream. Please check this page and the on-stream guidance before joining.
Steps
Basic steps to join
If it is your first time, follow this flow before joining.

Check if it’s a participation stream
Confirm in the stream title, description, and on-stream announcements whether it’s a viewer-participation stream.

Read the stream rules
Check recruitment details, rank requirements, whether VC is used, how to send friend requests, and other guidance in the stream or description.

Say you want to join in chat
If you’d like to join, leave a chat comment that clearly says so. You may also be asked to share a nickname or platform.

Follow the guidance to join
Follow on-stream instructions for the queue, room codes, friend codes, and similar details.

Wrap up with otsubako (thanks for watching) and hand off
When you’re done playing, share a greeting or thanks so the next person can take over smoothly.
How to ask to join in chat
When asking to join, phrase it so Komoru and moderators can spot it easily in stream chat.
Comment examples
- “I’d like to join” / “Looking to participate”
- “First time here—I’d like to join”
- If the stream asks for it, also include nickname, platform, rank, etc.
- Please avoid spamming or repeating the same message.
- Avoid harsh wording or one-sided instructions toward other participants.
Queues and turn-taking
Participation streams often use a queue or turn-taking. Follow the call order and chat guidance during the stream.
- Enjoy the stream while waiting for your turn
- Prioritize on-stream guidance for when to switch
- When you’re done, pass the baton—say hi or thanks to the next person
Whether VC (voice chat) is used
Some streams use VC, some don’t, and some make it optional. Always check the stream and description.
- On VC streams, watch your mic settings and background noise
- On non-VC streams, chat or in-game messaging is usually the main way to communicate
- If you’re unsure about VC, ask in chat—or don’t join VC unless you need to
Discord integration
Discord may be used for advance notices or recruitment within the community. Please read the server rules before using it.

- Check each channel’s purpose (chat, LFG, game-specific) before posting
- Internal management details and private ops info are not published on public pages

If something goes wrong
If you’re stuck or uneasy during a stream, follow this order.
- First check on-stream guidance and moderator instructions
- Calmly explain the situation in chat (please don’t spam)
- If it’s hard to resolve, don’t force the stream—reach out via the contact page
- • Don’t escalate conflicts with other participants too far on stream; use official contact channels when needed
- • Don’t exchange personal info or contact details in stream chat unless necessary

How many times should I comment that I want to join?
Once, clearly, is enough. While you wait to be called, please enjoy the stream without spamming.
Is VC required?
It depends on the stream. Whether VC is required, optional, or unused is always in the stream and description—please check there.
Is Discord required?
Not for every participation stream. When advance notice or recruitment uses Discord, follow the on-stream guidance. Joining the community is optional.
What if I lose track of the queue?
Prioritize on-stream guidance and calmly ask in chat. If moderators are present, follow their instructions.
